The proposed New York City Skyline Aerial Cable Transit System will travel between stations in Lower Manhattan, Governors Island and Brooklyn. Spanning 1.8 miles, it will connect 4,000 people per hour in each direction—a trip between Manhattan and Brooklyn will take under 10 minutes. The system will use 3S tricable detachable gondola technology for outstanding stability over long spans, and when not in use, cabin batteries will be recharged using solar roof panels at the stations. Distinctive towers will support the gondola system at heights ranging from 90 to 400ft, providing panoramic views of the New York Harbor.
