We recently completed the renovation and expansion of The Frick Collection in New York NY with Selldorf Architects; Calder Gardens in Philadelphia PA with Herzog & de Meuron; and David Hammons’ Day’s End installation with the Whitney Museum of American Art. We are currently working on a new Air Traffic Control Tower in Columbus IN with Marlon Blackwell Architects, the Emanuel Nine Memorial in Charleston SC with Handel Architects, and the Toledo Museum of Art Reinstallation with Michael Maltzan Architecture.
Team

Guy Nordenson is a structural engineer and founding partner at Guy Nordenson and Associates. He is also a professor of architecture and structural engineering at Princeton University. He began his career in 1976 in the joint Long Island City studio of R Buckminster Fuller and Isamu Noguchi. He has practiced in San Francisco and New York. In 1987 he established the New York office of Ove Arup & Partners and was a director until 1997 when he began Guy Nordenson and Associates.
From the late 1970s Nordenson was active in earthquake engineering research and regulations. He initiated and led the development of the New York City Seismic Code from 1984 to its enactment into Local Law 17 in 1995. Current research focuses on climate adaptation, flood hazards, and the structural use of straw. He was Commissioner and Secretary of the New York City Public Design Commission (2005-2016) and the NYC Panel on Climate Change (2013-2020).
Nordenson has realized the structures of over 200 buildings and bridges, including 45 museums. He was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (Visual Arts, 2009) and the National Academy of Engineers (Civil & Environmental, 2022).

Gina Morrow is an Associate Partner and oversees project management and office operations at Guy Nordenson and Associates. Her recently completed projects include the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego Expansion in La Jolla CA and David Hammons’ Day's End for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. She is currently working on the Emanuel Nine Memorial in Charleston SC and the Rothko Chapel Campus Expansion in Houston TX.
Gina joined GNA in 2015 after completing her Master of Architecture at Princeton University School of Architecture and her BA from Vassar College. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Cornell University and has also taught at the Cooper Union, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Princeton University.

Xiaoxiao Wu is an Associate Partner and leads the engineering team at Guy Nordenson and Associates. Her recently completed projects include the International African American Museum in Charleston SC and Calder Gardens in Philadelphia PA. She is currently working on the Air Traffic Control Tower in Columbus IN, the Rothko Chapel Campus Expansion in Houston TX, and the Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo OH.
Xiaoxiao joined GNA in 2015 after completing her Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from MIT (2015) and Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Tongji University in Shanghai CHINA (2014). Xiaoxiao has also served as adjunct faculty at The Cooper Union and currently serves as a board member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York.

Brett Schneider is a Senior Associate at Guy Nordenson and Associates. Brett is one of GNA’s first employees, having started as an intern in 1998 and joining full-time in 2001. Over his career at GNA he has completed many projects and served as the project engineer on the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion in Toledo OH, the Menil Drawing Institute in Houston TX, and David Hammons’ Day’s End for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. In addition, he was co-designer of the Chicago Architectural Biennial Lakefront Kiosk Competition winner Chicago Horizon, which is recognized for its pioneering use of CLT.
Brett has a BA in Art History and Astrophysics from Williams College (1994), and he pursued joint Masters degrees in architecture and structural engineering at Princeton University, graduating with a Master in Engineering (2000). Brett is an Associate Professor at The Rice School of Architecture.

Alexandra Steelman is an Associate and structural engineer at Guy Nordenson and Associates. Alex has contributed to a feasibility study for the Cistern in Poughkeepsie and worked on the design for the renovation of the Ancient Near East and Cypriot Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her current projects include the Marine Service Guard Quarters in Paris FRANCE and the Emanuel Nine Memorial in Charleston SC.
Alex joined GNA in 2022 after completing her Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from MIT (2022) and BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell University (2021). Alex is a member of IASS and has also contributed to research and publications on the application of artificial intelligence in structural engineering.

Jonathan Gagnon is an Engineer at Guy Nordenson and Associates. His current projects include an Air Traffic Control Tower in Columbus IN and the Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo OH.
He joined GNA in 2024 after earning a BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a certificate in Hellenic Studies from Princeton University, where he researched the structural mechanics of monumental ancient Greek stone construction.
Jenna Schnitzler is a Designer at Guy Nordenson and Associates. She is currently working on the Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo OH and a private residence in Austin TX.
Jenna joined GNA in 2024 after completing her dual Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Building Technology degrees at MIT (2024). She also holds a BS in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. Recently she exhibited at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale and is involved with ongoing research related to parametric design and reducing the carbon impact of buildings through shape optimization and reuse.
Caio Soares-Azeredo is an Engineer at Guy Nordenson and Associates. Caio is currently working on FEM analysis modeling research and assisting with Construction Administration on several projects.
Caio joined GNA in 2025 for a 1-year internship as part of GNA’s ongoing exchange with students from the École des Ponts IP in Paris FRANCE. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Civil Engineering from École des Ponts IP and he has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (2024).
Jennifer Rodriguez is the Financial Manager at Guy Nordenson and Associates, where she oversees the firm’s financial operations and strategic planning. In her role, she works closely with leadership and staff to streamline financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and implement procedures that support the firm’s continued growth and success.
She has over a decade of experience as a Controller in the real estate and construction sectors, with expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and accounting system optimization. Jennifer is dedicated to improving efficiency, ensuring accuracy, and aligning financial strategy with organizational goals.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from CUNY Brooklyn College and is a licensed Notary Public.
